Open
your mouth, stick out your tongue and say “Aaahhh”.
It’s time for your spiritual checkup. Please
check all the statements that apply which
describe you, your attitude, your behavior or
priorities under each heading. Remember, this is
about you—not your spouse or that other church
member you know who is not as spiritual as
you—but you.
Attitude
___ I am a faultfinder. I
tend to have a sour disposition about life
and other people. I generalize entire groups
because I’ve had some bad experiences with a
few.
___ I tend to expect the
worst and am seldom surprised.
___ I greet each day as a
gift from God and receive it with joy (Psalm
118:24).
Faith
___ I have a difficult time
reconciling at least some of what the Bible
says with what I believe to be true.
___ I have a content faith
that believes whatever God’s Word teaches
(Deuteronomy 29:29).
___ I entrust my care to God
regardless of what happens (1 Peter 5:6,7).
Bible Study
___ I never read my Bible
for pleasure.
___ I don’t bring my Bible
to church.
___ I leave my Bible at
church because I don’t need it at home.
___ I must have God’s Word
to guide my life and am lost without it
(Psalm 119:105).
Others
___ I am nice to people who
are nice to me.
___ I tell others exactly
what I think. They shouldn’t be so
sensitive.
___ I avoid personal
meetings but can write scathing emails.
___ I treat others like I
want to be treated (Matthew 7:21).
Growth
___ I am pretty much right
where I was when I first became a Christian.
___ My life looks more like
the “deeds of the flesh” than the “fruit of
the Spirit”.
___ I actively and
purposefully pursue the likeness of Christ
in my life.
God bless you,
