Formerly known as Seniors, Challengers was the name chosen in 2001, for those age 50 and above who desire to join together for fellowship and service. Through the coordination of Doug and Helen Thomas, the Challengers frequently meet for dinner, to listen to a guest speaker, or to visit those in need. They enjoy the challenge of travel to various places of interest throughout the state and region, including Palmetto Bible Camp for work and singing, Asheville for leaf looking, and the Newberry Opera House for quality entertainment. An overnight stay is not unusual. As an example to the younger members, the Challengers remind us that we are never too old to serve God, thereby bringing Him glory.
